UCOL 1000: Using Technology and Engineering for the Good (2019-2020)

This course, a weekly discussion-based seminar, introduces first-year college students to learning in an academic community. Seminar topics are selected by the instructor. We will explore how engineers and designers use bioinspired solutions for medical devices, structures, and computational algorithms and discuss the resultant opportunities, risks, and ethical challenges. Students will also learn strategies for planning coursework, learning about majors and minors, and working with faculty advisors. Instructor's Discipline: Engineering.
