This course provides an in-depth analysis of significant American movies starring the city of Seattle. Typically, each week spotlights a film and director of impact, while focusing on the roles and functions of the Emerald City within the movie and genre. Examples of films and styles include Nora Ephron’s Sleepless in Seattle and the Romantic Comedy, Alan J. Pakula’s The Parallax View and the Political Thriller, or David Mamet’s House of Games and the Underground Seattle Psychological Thriller.
