This course prepares first-year students for college-level success, strengthening their academic skills and their ability to navigate university resources, culture, and conventions. In the context of topics related to the instructor’s academic discipline, the course helps students learn how to deepen study skills, manage time and stress, and plan a pathway of academic study and career preparation. This course also focuses on SPU’s commitment to character formation by relating the material to several key virtues, such as faithfulness, courage, and intellectual humility. Typically offered: Autumn, Winter, Spring.
