The .sub command

The .sub command works equally well with symbolic values. Let us replace $x$ by $t+1$ in the expression $w=x^2+x+1$ . We will label the result as $M$.

And now to get Sage to "multiply out" this expression we use the expand command. There are two ways to do this. Both give the same result!
