Balt’s passion is building experiences and applications for the web. At Microsoft, he leads a team that does just that for one of the most visited portfolio of websites and products in the world.

How does your time at SPU connect to the work you’re doing today?

My time at SPU prepared me by helping to build relationships with leaders in and around the city. Those relationships have remained with me throughout the years personally, professionally, and spiritually, and they have heavily contributed to the work I do today, both at home and at work.

Who made a difference in your SPU education?

Mark Oppenlander and his leadership over the Mentor Program at SPU was pivotal in my development as a young professional. I attribute the success of this program to Mark’s leadership and to the culmination of a community of influential Seattle leaders who are willing to share their experiences and time with hungry students at SPU.

What advice do you have for students about life after graduation?

Don’t lose touch with those who were influential during your time at SPU, they can and will continue to play an important role in your life if you let them.
