Electrical Engineering major 2008

With a background in electrical engineering, Hulton owns Ada’s Technical Books and Café and The Office at Ada’s in Seattle. There, she is responsible for all future growth of the company, managing financials, and leadership of the management team.

How does your time at SPU connect to the work you’re doing today?

Studying electrical engineering and computer science at SPU is really where my love of science and technology came to fruition. Ada’s mission is to build community around science and technology and to make STEM topics more accessible to all. I feel that these ideals are very much in line with SPU’s mission of engaging the culture and changing the world.

Who made a difference in your SPU education?

Dr. Melani Plett was an amazing support to me throughout my time at SPU. She encouraged me to follow my passions and to join the engineering community fully. I truly appreciate her guidance.

What advice do you have for students about life after graduation?

Don’t be afraid to continue to follow your passions, even if they seem different than what you originally thought you would be doing with your life. Big things come to those who follow their dreams.
