Dietetics major 2007

As the program manager for International Health at World Vision International, Brown upholds the organizational mission of ensuring that all people, but especially women and children, have access to quality health care and nutrition. Specifically, she supports health projects in Zambia, Uganda, and Somalia, ensuring that project staff have all the technical skills and resources they need to do their best work.

How does your time at SPU connect to the work you’re doing today?

Studying dietetics at SPU taught me the vital importance of proper nutrition for all people, regardless of their age or where they live.

Who made a difference in your SPU education?

Dr. Gaile Moe was one of the most supportive professors I have ever had. She inspired me to think big about my career and equipped me with not only skills to be successful but also with a love of learning that has stayed with me until today.

What advice do you have for students about life after graduation?

Do a lot of informational interviews with people who have careers or specific jobs that sound interesting to you and visit places in the world where people live differently from you.
