Dark Water

Creative Writing Instructor Wins Washington State Book Award

Dark Water

Robert Clark, winner of the 2009 Washington State Book Award for Nonfiction, considers how beauty and disaster influenced his faith in Dark Water, a mystery story and memoir.

Set in Florence, the book offers a compelling tour of Italian Renaissance art, bringing the stories of master artists to life and detailing the 1966 flood that destroyed masterpieces. Clark is an instructor in Seattle Pacific University’s M.F.A. in Creative Writing program.
