Alyssa Singh is a nurse at Children’s Hospital Central California, one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the nation. She’s also founder of a labor of love called Imani Care International, which partners with Kenyans to provide health care to the slums of Nairobi by supporting a small clinic there.

“As a small organization, the aid we are able to provide in proportion to the need can seem insignificant,” she says. “It has been an incredible amount of work, but the journey in itself has been so rewarding.”
