Classic Caffeine
For the first ever “coffee issue” of Response, we just had to share this photo of Seattle Pacific’s first ever coffee shop, the snack bar in the basement of Tiffany Hall.
Can you guess (or remember) how much a cup of coffee cost there in 1954?
Send us a correct answer by June 1, 2016, and you will be entered in a drawing to win an SPU sweatshirt! Contact us at response@spu.edu or below.

Midcentury Mod-Dorm
Many of you wrote in to identify Hill Hall, which was indeed the first Seattle Pacific residence hall built to house both men and women in 1962. The Hall is named for the family of Reuben and Henrietta Hill, who donated property for a college expansion.
“In fact, it looks like the same furniture was still around when I lived in Hill 1969–1971!” writes Garry Morgan ’73.
Congratulations to our contest winner, Karen Kaminishi ’87!
