SPU Varsity Four Makes It to the Semifinals at Henley Women’s Regatta
IN ITS FIRST OVERSEAS venture, the Seattle Pacific University women’s
crew team made quite an impression. The Falcon varsity four defeated
two English teams before being eliminated by Princeton University
in the Henley Women’s Regatta semifinal round June 20 on the Thames
River.
It was another superb season for SPU, which had won nine
straight, including conference, regional and national titles
for the second year in a row. Wins over Trafford and Royal Chester
put the Falcons in the semifinals at Henley. Stanford University
prevailed over Princeton in the grand final of the Frank Harry
Cup.
