An article by Alberto Ferreiro, emeritus professor of history, titled “In Die Sancti Iohannis: St. Vicent Ferrer on the Feast of John the Baptist in a Catalán Sermon," was published in Gregorianum 105, 1, (2024) 75-95. This sermon is about Zechariah and Elizabeth and the extraordinary events surrounding the conception and birth of John the Baptist. Zechariah and Elizabeth were paragons of love of God, austerity, chastity, and deep trust in God. Believers would do well, according to Vicent, to follow in their footsteps, minus the doubts of Zechariah, if they were to have any hope of attaining paradise. Vicent Ferrer preached three sermons on John the Baptist about his vigil, Feast Day, and martyrdom.
An article by Alberto about Ferrer's sermon on John the Baptist's martyrdom, titled, “Stela de l’alba és appellat sent Johan Babtist: the Martyrdom of John the Baptist in a Sermon in Catalán of St. Vicent Ferrer," was published in 2021 in Gregorianum 102, 2 (2021) 311-328. The third one about John the Baptist's vigil titled “In Vigilia Sancti Iohannis Babtiste: St. Vicent Ferrer on the Vigil of John the Baptist in a Catalán Sermon," Dominican Culture, Dominican Theology, The Order of Preachers and Its Spheres of Action (1215– c. 1600) for the annual conference of the International Society for the Study of Medieval Theology (IGTM) June 29– July 2 July 2021, will appear in Faculty of Theology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, Archa Verbi Subsidia – Aschendorff, Germany, 2025, thus completing the "Hat Trick."
