Making their mark
Last year, Seattle Pacific’s Board of Trustees voted to rename Alexander Hall, “Alexander and Adelaide Hall” in recognition of the original First Lady’s significant contributions to the University.
Adelaide Beers worked alongside her husband to establish Seattle Seminary and served as the head of the school as its preceptress. Among her many roles, Adelaide taught mathematics and music and was later named dean of women.
From Adelaide’s pioneering efforts to today, the women of SPU continue to contribute to the world as teachers and chief technology officers. They walk the corridors of Congress, build community as local business owners, and connect the most vulnerable to social services. We’re pleased to introduce you to just a few of our amazing alumnae.
