Seattle Pacific appoints Nyaradzo Mvududu as School of Education dean

Professor of Education Nyaradzo Mvududu is the new dean for Seattle Pacific’s School of Education.

She most recently served as the director of doctoral programs for the School of Education. She also teaches courses and conducts research on statistics and evaluation.

Mvududu, who is from Zimbabwe, received an MBA from the University of Washington in 1996 and a doctorate in education from SPU in 2002. She became a faculty member in 2003 and received tenure in 2010.

“I teach at SPU because here I do not have to compartmentalize my faith and my academic career,” Mvududu says. “I view statistics as a tool we can use to understand God’s creation and our work in whatever field as we go about our day-to-day activities.”

Her appointment, which followed a nationwide search, takes effect July 1.
