BIOLOGY (BA OPTION I) MAJOR
Suggested Course Sequence: A Four-Year Plan

At least 87 total and 25 upper-division credits are required for the BA in Biology (Option I) major. This course sequence is meant to be used as a guideline. Consult with your faculty advisor or academic counselor about modifying this plan to meet your needs, and to reflect any coursework you have already completed prior to enrolling at SPU.

Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)	Foreign Language Compentency, if required			AHA, AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB (Choose none to three depending on competency courses needed.)
Other	Apply for admission to the major once the General Biology sequence is successfully completed.			Electives to reach at least 90 credits if needed

Major	BIO 3325	BIO 4352		15 credits of electives from the following choices: BIO 3320, 3350, 3351, 4325, 4330, 4340, 4361, 4362, 4418, 4420, and 4615. 10 credits of electives from the following choices: BIO 2129, 2130, 3432, 4413, 4415.
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHA, AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other		Apply to graduate once 105 credits and admission to major have been earned.		Electives to reach at least 135 credits if needed

Common Curriculum				BIO 4899, (two quarters of BIO 4899 must be taken for a total of two credits)
Major				15 credits of electives from the following choices: BIO 3320, 3350, 3351, 4325, 4330, 4340, 4361, 4362, 4418, 4420, and 4615. 10 credits of electives from the following choices: BIO 2129, 2130, 3432, 4413, 4415.
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHA, AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other	Create a final-year plan and meet with your faculty advisor for review.			Electives to reach at least 180 total college-level quarter credits and 60 upper-division credits if needed
