EUROPEAN STUDIES - EUROPE MAJOR
Suggested Course Sequence: A Four-Year Plan

At least 51 total and 23 upper-division credits are required for the BA in European Studies - Europe major. This course sequence is meant to be used as a guideline. Consult with your faculty advisor or academic counselor about modifying this plan to meet your needs, and to reflect any coursework you have already completed prior to enrolling at SPU.

Major				EUR 1110, LIN 2100
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)	Complete Foreign Language Competency, if required			Complete Writing Skills and Math Skills Competency requirements, as dictated by placement tests SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (Choose one to four depending on competency courses needed)
Other				Electives to reach at least 45 credits if needed

YEAR 2	Autumn	Winter	Spring	Any Quarter
Common Curriculum				UCOR 2000 UFDN 2000/3001
Major				European languages: 20 credits are required. Minimum competency through 2103 in one language is required. A five-credit elective in European History (HIS) or Political Science (POL)
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other	Apply for admission to the major. A 2.0 GPA is required, in addition to a 2.5 GPA in 10 credits of coursework at SPU in foreign languages or European Studies.			Electives to reach at least 90 credits if needed

Major	EUR 3000	EUR 4254		EUR 3100, EUR 3500; A five-credit elective in European History (HIS) or Political Science (POL)

Other		Apply to graduate once 105 credits and admission to major have been earned.		Electives to reach at least 135 credits if needed

Major	EUR 3000	EUR 4254		EUR 4899; A 3-5 credit approved course in European Literature; A 5-credit approved course in European Studies
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other	Create a final-year plan and meet with your faculty advisor for review.			Electives to reach at least 180 total college-level quarter credits and 60 upper-division credits if needed
