Welcome to the Student Counseling Center website. The staff of the SCC are dedicated to student well-being and providing services collaboratively with compassion, respect, and sensitivity to students' unique challenges and cultural backgrounds.

Please Note: Our services are available (free of charge) only to currently enrolled SPU undergraduates.

Status of the Student Counseling Center

from June 9 to September 29, 2008*:

The Student Counseling Center is not fully operational over the summer.  If you are an SPU undergraduate and are either: (1) taking summer classes OR (2) were enrolled in the Spring Quarter and plan to enroll in the upcoming Fall Quarter, we are available to you to provide a counseling assessment.  If there is space available and your situation is such that SCC services are appropriate for your needs, counseling services may be provided as well.  Since we are only open this summer on a scheduled-appointment basis, it is best to call our central number (206) 281-2657 to schedule an appointment.  If you get our outgoing announcement when you call, please leave a message with your name and number and the best time to reach you, and we will return your call.

If this is an immediate health-related emergency, call 911 or Campus Security at 281-2911.  If this is a mental-health crisis, call the Crisis Clinic 24-hour crisis line at (206) 461-3222.

Please review the rest of our website to learn about the many services provided by the Student Counseling Center.

Have a Great Summer!!!

*PLEASE NOTE: We will be accepting intakes for Fall 2008 counseling starting the first day of class, September 29, 2008.
