ART - HISTORY MAJOR
Suggested Course Sequence: A Four-Year Plan

At least 71 total and 30 upper-division credits are required for the BA in Art – Art History emphasis. This course sequence is meant to be used as a guideline. Consult with your faculty advisor or academic counselor about modifying this plan to meet your needs, and to reflect any coursework you have already completed prior to enrolling at SPU.

Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)	Elementary foreign language, if requirement was not fulfilled in high school.			Complete Writing Skills and Math Skills Competency requirements, as dictated by placement tests
Other				Electives to reach at least 45 credits if needed

Major	ART 2602 PHI 1004		ART 2603	Begin taking approved elective courses
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)	A minimum of 10 credits in French, German or Italian at intermediate level or higher			AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (Choose two or three depending on competency courses needed.)
Other			Apply to the major upon successful completion of 10 units of foundation courses and ART 2602, ART 2603	Electives to reach at least 90 credits if needed

YEAR 3	Autumn	Winter	Spring	Any Quarter

Major			ART 3611	Continue taking approved elective courses.
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other		Apply to graduate once 105 credits and admission to major have been earned.		Electives to reach at least 135 credits if needed

YEAR 4	Autumn	Winter	Spring	Any Quarter
Common Curriculum
Major	ART 3608	ART 3605	ART 3606 ART 4897	Finish taking approved elective courses in major: 15 credits toral, including 9 upper-division.
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other	Create a final-year plan and meet with your faculty advisor for review.			Electives to reach at least 180 total college-level quarter credits and 60 upper-division credits if needed
