HISTORY MAJOR
Suggested Course Sequence: A Four-Year Plan

At least 56 total and 26 upper-division credits are required for the BA in History major. This course sequence is meant to be used as a guideline. Consult with your faculty advisor or academic counselor about modifying this plan to meet your needs, and to reflect any coursework you have already completed prior to enrolling at SPU.

Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)	Begin or resume elementary foreign language, if competency requirement is not complete. Unless you are exempt, take the Math Placement Test at least three academic quarters before you intend to take your Exploratory Curriculum math class. Complete ENG 2201, if required.			AHA, AHB, AHC, SSA, NSA, NSB, MAT (Choose one to five depending on competency courses needed)

Other				Electives to reach at least 45 credits if needed

Major				HIS 3853 or HIS 3854 or HIS 3857; One five credit course in the history of Christianity; Two five credit courses in the history of a non-Western region

Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHA, AHB, AHC, SSA, NSA, NSB, MAT (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)

Other	Apply to graduate once 105 credits and admission to major have been earned.			Electives to reach at least 135 credits if needed

Major				HIS 4899; Three five credit electives in the major

Other	Create a final-year plan and meet with your faculty advisor for review.			Electives to reach at least 180 total college-level quarter credits and 60 upper-division credits if needed
