MUSIC MAJOR
Suggested Course Sequence: A Four-Year Plan

Total credits will vary depending upon emphasis but 23 upper-division credits are required for the BA in MUSIC major. This course sequence is meant to be used as a guideline. Consult with your faculty advisor or academic counselor about modifying this plan to meet your needs, and to reflect any coursework you have already completed prior to enrolling at SPU.

Major	MUS 1104 and 1107, Music ensemble (2 credits), Individual Instruction (1-2 credits)	MUS 1105 and 1108, Music ensemble (2 credits), Individual Instruction (1-2 credits)	MUS 1106 and 1109, Music ensemble (2 credits), Individual Instruction (1-2 credits)	Meet with a faculty advisor in the Music department to select an area of emphasis and continue long-term planning
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)	Begin or resume elementary foreign language, if competency requirement is not complete. Unless you are exempt, take the Math Placement Test at least three academic quarters before you intend to take your Exploratory Curriculum math class. Complete ENG 2201, if required.			AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA, NSB, MAT (Choose one to three depending on competency courses needed)
Other				Electives to reach at least 45 credits if needed

* Students who transfer to SPU with junior standing should review the freshman and sophomore year sequence and make certain they complete these requirements as soon as possible.
