Global Urban Ministries Minor Information

[Delia]

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Global and Urban Ministries minor (or GUM, as students around here call it!).

We have a couple of overall goals:

  • We equip students to understand the theological and contextual realities of the world today, which is heavily urban and multiethnic.
  • We strive to develop global Christians who will participate in God's transformation of the world.

We serve students in all majors, preparing Christians to make a difference in the world. Some of our graduates are career missionaries, but the majority of them are not. Many are involved in leadership of Christian organizations of all sorts, both in the US and overseas. Some of our graduates major in Theology, even more in Christian or Youth Ministries, and many in Sociology.
