Now in its third year, the BVR/SPU Valuation Challenge at Seattle Pacific University brings together teams of finance students with expert instruction, real world company
data provided by
Business Valuation Resources (BVR), and professional judges from
Moss Adams, LLP and other valuation firms.

The 2014 Challenge is open to student teams from the first 24 universities and colleges to apply.  Teams will estimate the stand-alone value of an actual private company provided by the accounting firm of Moss Adams, LLP.  Teams may use materials from the extensive valuation database of BVR for one year at no charge.  The database materials explain why smaller public and private companies exhibit significantly lower multiples of value than their larger public counterparts and demonstrate how to calculate these lower values.  BVR materials would otherwise cost each student over $5,000 and are considered essential by appraisers, investment analysts, consultants, brokers, and lawyers. More information may be found in the Call for Participants, presentation evaluation form, and suggested library resources located on the VALUATION CHALLENGE page.

Cash awards of $5,000, $2,500, and $1,500 will be given to the top three teams.
