International Reputation and National Recognition
Since it opened its doors in 1977, the School of Business, Government, and Economics at SPU has earned a reputation worldwide for a high-quality, distinctly Christian approach to business achievement. And today SPU continues to equip men and women in diverse professional fields ― across all ages and ethnicities, and in all reaches of the globe ― to see all of life, including work, as sacred activity.
All reputable institutions are regionally accredited, and Seattle Pacific is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. The best business schools, however, meet the most rigorous national accreditation standards of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, or AACSB. The School of Business, Government, and Economics at SPU has held AACSB accreditation since 2000.
The School is also regularly included in U.S. News & World Report’s listings of “Best Business Schools,” including rankings for leading part-time MBA programs. We’re featured in The Princeton Review’s annual “Best Business Schools” edition, and the Aspen Institute recognized SPU in its “Beyond Grey Pinstripes” survey.
Our faculty includes individuals with doctoral degrees who bring a broad base of business experience — from banking and law to financial forecasting, marketing, and information systems development — to the classroom. Many of these professors also have theological or philosophical training in ethics and related fields. SPU faculty members care about the added moral and spiritual dimension of work, even as they care deeply about the students they serve.
