Who Should Pursue This Degree
If you want to earn the credentials to become a superintendent or a district office administrator at an accelerated pace, this program is for you. The combined three-year Doctor of Education (EdD) and Executive Leadership merges the two programs, allowing you to attain your educational goals more quickly. If you're interested in other education-related careers, such as nonprofit and higher education administration, this program can serve those needs as well.
Designed for working professionals, the EdD and Executive Leadership program offers most classes online, as well as on Saturdays and some Friday afternoons/evenings. In summer, classes may be offered during the day in person. The program utilizes a cohort model, with a new cohort beginning each autumn.
Executive Leadership Specialization
The Executive Leadership program is for individuals who hold teaching certificates and who want to pursue district-level administrative assignments in the P–12 school setting, such as superintendent, deputy superintendent, associate and assistant superintendent, director, and other similar roles. The three-year combined EdD and Executive Leadership blends best leadership practices with effective utilization of education policy and research. It emphasizes the knowledge and skills needed for today's and tomorrow's educational leaders, from building principals to school district superintendents.
