Dr. Brittany Christian joins Seattle Pacific University as a visiting assistant professor of psychology. Prior to joining SPU, she worked as an assistant professor at Concordia University in Chicago, and as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
She is passionate about researching and teaching social cognition. In particular, Dr. Christian explores how mental imagery influences judgments and behavior. Her work has wide-ranging implications — from the way we interact with and perceive strangers to the amount of calories we ingest after imagining eating an unhealthy food.
She considers herself an avid traveler, a hobby facilitated by living in Scotland and Australia. Most recently, Dr. Christian visited Iceland where she had the opportunity to view a spectacular display of the Northern Lights.
Dr. Christian has had the opportunity to be a part of vibrant church communities all over the world. She has joined mission teams in Kenya and Mexico.
