This page will help you with any registration errors that you may encounter during the registration process on the Web.

What does it mean?

PREQ and TEST SCORE-ERROR You have not taken the pre-requisite course, or you have not completed the required assessment For Undergraduate students with credits earned away from SPU and have taken an equivalent course they believe meets the pre-requisite: Academic departments may “override” the pre-requisite flag. Students must see the academic department that oversees the class to request this override. For Post Baccalaureate, Graduate and Doctoral students: you will require an override if a pre-req was earned away from SPU. Academic departments may “override” the pre-requisite flag. Class Restriction The class you are attempting to register for is restricted to people in certain class standings (Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors) and your records show that you are not in that class standing. This course is restricted to specific class levels. Contact the Department for exceptions.
CLOSED-999 WAITLISTED You are attempting to register for a class that is closed. This will also show you how many people are on the wait list. You may not register for a class that is closed. You can add your name to the wait list by changing the "Action" box to "Waitlist via Web".
CLOSED-999 WAITLISTED-X You are attempting to register for a class that is closed. This will also show you how many people are on the wait list. You may not register for a class that is closed. You can add your name to the wait list by changing the "Action" box to "Waitlist via Web".
CLOSED-999 XLST WAITLISTED You are attempting to register for a class that is closed. This will also show you how many people are on the wait list. You may not register for a class that is closed. You can add your name to the wait list by changing the "Action" box to "Waitlist via Web".
Co-Requisite with XXXX XXXX You are registering for one of two (or more) classes that need to be registered at the same time (different courses). This course requires that you register for additional courses. See Time Schedule for the appropriate course(s).
College Restriction The class you are attempting to register for is restricted to people in certain groups of majors. You are not allowed to register for this class. Contact the Department for exceptions.
Coordinator Permission The Program Coordinator must give permission to take this class. Contact the Department Coordinator for approval.
Duplicate Course This means that you are attempting to register for the same course twice in the same term. You are not allowed to register for the same course twice in the same term unless it is a Lecture/Lab situation (linked courses). Contact Student Academic Services with questions.
Graduate Director The Graduate Director must give permission to take this class. Contact the Graduate Director for approval.
Ind Study Agreement Req An Independent Study Agreement must be provided in order to register for this class. Complete the Independent Study Form that can be found in Student Academic Services, the Department or Career Development Office.
Instructor & Advisor Both the instructor and your advisor must give permission to take this class. Contact your Advisor and the Instructor for approval.
Instructor & audition You must audition and obtain permission from the instructor to take this class. Contact the Instructor for approval.
Instructor Permission Req You must have permission from the instructor to take this class. Contact the Instructor for approval.
Intern Learning Contract An Internship Learning Contract must be provided in order to register for this class. Complete the Internship Learning Contract Form that can be found in Student Academic Services, the Department or Career Development Office.
Level Restriction The class you are attempting to register for is restricted to people in certain degree levels and your records show that you are not in that degree level. You are not allowed to register for this class. Contact the Department for exceptions.
Link Error-Type XX Req You are registering for one of two classes that need to be registered at the same time (usually Lecture with a Lab). Register for both the Lab and Lecture at the same time (put both CRNs in the Add Class boxes before clicking on "Submit Changes").
Major Restriction The class you are attempting to register for is restricted to people in certain majors and your records show that you are not in that major. You are not allowed to register for this class. Contact the Department for exceptions.
Maximum Hours Exceeded You are attempting to register for more credits that is allowable. This is not allowed. Contact Student Academic Services with questions.
School Dean Permission You must have permission from the School Dean to take this class. Contact the School Dean for approval.
School of Education Permis You must have permission from the School of Education to take this class. Contact the School of Education for approval.
Time Conflict with XXXXX You are trying to register for two classes that have overlapping times. This is not allowed. Contact Student Academic Services with questions.
Travel Study Regsr From A Travel Study Registration Form must be provided in order to take this class. Contact the Travel Study Coordinator for registration instructions.
