A message from the provost
Before the rush and excitement of graduation events overtake us, I’d like to pause for just a moment to say congratulations to you, our Class of 2019, and to your family and friends who have supported you in this achievement. Can you believe the time has almost arrived?
Graduates, you’re completing your degree after devoting many hours to a goal that I'm sure, at times, must have seemed beyond the distant horizon. You can be very proud of your accomplishments.
Families and friends, you too are to be celebrated, as you’ve supported your student in countless ways throughout his or her university career.
You should know that this is also a time of great celebration for the faculty and staff of SPU. We offer our blessing to you, as we send you on your way to serve the world. We look forward to celebrating with you over June 7-8, 2019.
For undergraduates, we have changed our regular venue for Commencement from KeyArena to Alaska Airlines Arena. With KeyArena offline for several years, as it undergoes renovations, we are grateful to our across-the-city University of Washington friends for partnering with us in offering up their Alaska Airlines Arena venue, another great indoor space here in Seattle.
Graduates, on behalf of the SPU community, I thank you for choosing Seattle Pacific as your alma mater, and I wish you God's very best as you move into your next chapter. We are grateful for the time you have spent with us, and we look forward to seeing how you will contribute your gifts and talents to the world around us that so desperately needs them.
We look forward to celebrating with you on June 7-8, 2019!
