An enrollment verification is used to verify a student’s enrollment or degree, and is used by a number of different organizations and companies.
SPU sends enrollment information to the National Clearinghouse after the 10th day of the quarter, and again after grades are posted for the quarter. Most U.S. loan companies work closely with the National Clearinghouse and will automatically verify a student’s enrollment for loan-deferment purposes.
To request an enrollment verification directly from the University, print the Verification Request (PDF), fill it out, and return it to the SAS office (Demaray Hall 151) by mail, fax, or scan and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Standard enrollment verification letters are printed on SPU letterhead and include the following information about the student:
- Name and address
- ID Number
- Birth date
- Class standing (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, graduate, doctoral)
- Primary major
Enrollment status (e.g., full-time, three-quarter time, half-time, quarter-time)
- Expected graduation date and term
- Each quarter that the student has attended, the quarter dates, and the time status for each quarter
*If the enrollment verification is sent prior to the 10th day of the quarter, it is unofficial. The letter will contain a note indicating that it is unofficial until the 10th day of the quarter has passed.
Verifying your GPA
When completing the verification request, select the “Insurance Company” option under “Verification Type,” and we will include all the information above plus your cumulative GPA, along with the GPA for each quarter you attended the University.
Enrollment verification requests are processed within two business days of receipt of the request and can be returned by mail, fax, or scan and email. The enrollment verification contains the raised University seal, which will not be visible on a faxed or emailed letter.
Verifying your completed degree
When completing the Verification Request (PDF), select the “Awarded Grad Date and Degree” option or “Awarded Grad Date, Degree, and GPA” under “Verification Type,” and we will include your degree information and GPA if requested.
Note: We cannot provide enrollment verifications for students enrolled in the year-long term as time status cannot be determined for those courses.
Canadian or Alaskan students
If you need to verify your enrollment for an academic year for Canadian requirements or for the Alaskan Permanent Fund Division, please fill out the Verification Request (PDF) and select the “Canadian or Alaskan” option under “Verification Type.” All additional paperwork to be completed by university registrar may be attached to the verification request.
