About

The Visual Arts major offers broad exposure to a variety of media and techniques, allowing students flexibility to explore courses of your choice in Art Education, Studio Arts, Illustration, and/or Visual Communication.

Who the program is for

Visual Arts majors are interested in learning a variety of skills and approaches to art, rather than focusing on one area of emphasis. This breadth of knowledge lends itself well to teaching art at the K-12 level, which is what many Visual Arts majors have gone on to do. Other graduates pursue freelance Illustration or Design work, work in galleries, or start their own online shop to sell their work. In this major you have options to take classes in everything from traditional Drawing, Painting and Printmaking, to Digital Illustration and Web Design.
