Three special SPU reunions close out 2026 Spring Quarter
Three special reunions brought Falcons back to campus this spring. Generations of alumni gathered to celebrate cherished traditions, reconnect with old friends, and reflect on the enduring bonds formed at Seattle Pacific. From the 90th anniversary celebrated by Seattle Pacific's oldest student club, to Centurions honoring one of their own, to members of the Class of 1976 returning to Tiffany Loop, these reunions revealed how SPU traditions continue to bring generations of Falcons together year after year.
Falconettes celebrate 90 years of tradition

Generations of Falconettes (pictured left) gathered on May 16 to celebrate the club’s 90th anniversary through its beloved annual Tea tradition. Twenty-five alumnae and current members, representing classes from 1965 to 2026, came together in the Student Union Building’s gazebo and fireside rooms to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate a legacy of service, faith, and hospitality.
As old photographs circulated and memories filled the room, one truth became clear: The Falconettes’ legacy is not defined by traditions alone. It is defined by generations of women who lead with grace and serve with purpose. “I just feel like you’re all my sisters and working with the campus Falconettes right now has just been incredible,” said Falconette alumnae board president Karen Jacobson Newbill '67 about the current students who joined the group. “It is such a blessing and I love to see how God is working in each one of their lives.”
Former Falconettes who missed the event — or who are not currently receiving updates — are invited to join the private alumnae Falconettes Facebook group to stay connected with the Falconette community. Also watch for an upcoming feature in SPU Stories about the Falconettes’ 90th anniversary,
Centurions honor Wes Wick ’76 at annual reunion
Centurion alumni and current members gathered June 4–5 for their annual reunion, celebrating a tradition of Christian service that dates back to 1958. During the event, the Roy Swanstrom Distinguished Centurion Award was presented to Wes Wick ’76 (pictured left) in recognition of his service and leadership. Wick is the nephew of the late Professor Roy Swanstrom, who founded the men’s service honorary.

Named for the Roman centurion commended by Christ for his faith, Centurions continues its mission of discipling young men in their Christian faith while serving Seattle Pacific and the broader community. The reunion provided an opportunity for members across generations to reconnect and celebrate the organization’s enduring impact.
Class of 1976 gathered for 50th reunion
More than two dozen members of the Class of 1976 returned to campus June 5 to celebrate their 50th Class Reunion. The day began alongside the Class of 2026 at Ivy Cutting and included the presentation of 50-Year Rings, induction into the Founders Circle, a time of remembrance for classmates who have passed away, Falcon trivia, and plenty of opportunities to reconnect, including dinner together that evening (see Pam Bailey Nolte, Scott Nolte, and others pictured left).
“Standing in that room on Friday brought something into focus for me,” said Don Rees. “Fifty years is not a small number. Looking back, I can see more clearly than I ever could at the time just how foundational those years at SPC/SPU were and how much of who I became was shaped there. That is worth honoring, and this reunion did exactly that.”
Special thanks to reunion committee members Carl Cotton, Al George, Lynne Hansen Hall, Ken Hall, Don Rees, Elaine Yale Weltz, Tim Weltz, and Wes Wick, as well as Alumni Ambassador Greg Asimakoupoulos ’74, whose support helped make the celebration possible.
