View all UCOL classes

This course, a weekly discussion-based seminar, introduces first-year college students to learning in an academic community. In this colloquium students will be awakened to justice by investigating the inspiring stories of nineteenth-century Christian abolitionists who resisted racial injustice and sought to live out the gospel message. Based on the Dialogue on Race and Faith Project, students will learn about, be inspired by and work toward intentional communities of interracial equality and cooperation. Students will also engage in planning coursework, choosing majors and minors, and laying out their academic path, working with faculty and connecting with campus resources. Instructor’s Discipline: Communication.
