Global and Urban Ministry Minor

The Global and Urban Ministry (GUM) minor serves students in all majors. It will equip you to understand the theological and contextual realities of the world today, which are heavily urban and multiethnic. Through this minor, the School of Theology strives to develop global Christians who will participate in God’s transformation of the world.

Benefits

This program offers a minor and an internship. The internship is a five-credit experience that engages you in some kind of fieldwork that is framed by personal and academic reflection. Students work in a variety of contexts, from international mission organizations to local, community-based social service agencies.

Courses and Degree Requirements

A few of the courses in the Global and Urban Ministry minor include Holistic Ministry, Living in Another Culture, and Community Economic Development. Review all the Global and Urban Ministry minor courses and requirements.

To earn the Global and Urban Ministry minor, you are required to take a minimum of 30 credits, including 15 upper-division credits.
