Seattle Pacific Seminary (SPS) is committed to providing high-quality theological education at a reasonable price. Financial assistance — including scholarships, paid-internships, and graduate assistantships, grants, and loans — is available to qualified students on a limited basis. SPS is an embedded graduate theology program of Seattle Pacific University and, therefore, coordinates with SPU Student Financial Services to provide financial assistance to our students.
SPS offers scholarships and graduate assistantship opportunities to new and continuing students on an annual basis. Student Financial Services offers assistance to new and continuing students who are interested in obtaining loans to help pay for their education, and provides additional services regarding account payment, grants and scholarships, student employment, and financial counseling on student loans and repayment.
Tuition for 2025–2026
In addition to direct instructional costs, Seattle Pacific Seminary’s tuition covers academic and student support services. Other benefits include use of athletic facilities (e.g., gym, locker room, and fitness rooms) and the SPU Library.

New Competitive Student Scholarships
Seattle Pacific Seminary is pleased to announce the following new competitive scholarships and fellowships.
Urban Ministry Promise Scholarship
The Urban Ministry Promise scholarship is awarded to seminarians who has a demonstrated propensity, gifting, and a sense of calling to congregational leadership in an urban ministry context. This scholarship awards one year’s worth of tuition and may be renewed.
Tektón Scholarship
Drawing from our institutional endeavors to be a formative community that is a workshop of the Holy Spirit, the Tektón Scholarship is named after the ancient Greek word for artisan or craftsperson. The Tektón Scholarship is awarded to students who embody the mission and vision of Seattle Pacific Seminary through their scholarship, spiritual development, and service to the Church and world. This scholarship awards one year’s worth of tuition and may be renewed.
Worship and the Arts Scholarship
Each year the Worship and the Arts Scholarship is awarded to seminarians pursuing their MA in Theology with a concentration in Worship and the Arts, and who works (or intends to work) in the fields of worship and the arts. This scholarship awards one year’s worth of tuition and may be renewed.
International Student Success Scholarship
Each year the International Student Success Scholarship is awarded to international students of Seattle Pacific Seminary who has demonstrated a propensity toward vocational ministry and a sense of calling toward congregational leadership in their country of origin. This scholarship awards one year’s worth of tuition through institutional scholarships and may be renewable.
Applying for Seminary Scholarships
Scholarships and other financial aid are offered to newly admitted and continuing students of SPS. For eligibility requirements, download the SPS Scholarship application. To apply for a scholarship, complete the following steps prior to the application deadline of May 1, 2026 for current students and July 31, 2026 for prospective and newly admitted students.
Please note: Scholarships will be distributed evenly across the Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters of the academic year for which a scholarship is awarded.
Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- The FAFSA provides the Seminary with an assessment of your financial need, and can be completed online. (Seattle Pacific University’s school code is: 003788.)
Complete the online Seminary Scholarship Application.
- The scholarship application provides the Seminary with a detailed assessment of your financial circumstances, and allows us to understand any additional information that may not have been captured by your FAFSA.
- In your application, please provide a concise statement about your monthly expenses, monthly income, and any additional information about your financial plans (e.g. additional scholarships you are applying for, etc.). Students are evaluated for scholarship aid based on financial need, merit (e.g., GPA, vocational preparedness), and on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Students must include a curriculum plan with an estimation of credits per quarter in their scholarship application.
Seattle Pacific Seminary awards more than $300,000 in endowed and budgeted scholarships to our students every year. These scholarships are offered based on the availability of these funds, which means, in some cases, there may be funding available to newly admitted students after our application deadline.
