Whether you’re pursuing the Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Arts in Theology (MA-THEO), or a Graduate Certificate, your application to Seattle Pacific Seminary is designed to be clear, straightforward, and supportive.
Transferring Graduate Coursework?
You may be able to apply previously completed graduate-level coursework toward your MDiv or certificate.
- Coursework must be relevant and completed within approved time limits
- Credits must be formally evaluated
- MDiv students must complete a minimum number of credits at SPU, including the final 15 credits

If you already hold a master’s degree, you may pursue a second master’s if it represents a distinct specialization and meets credit requirements.
Admission Status Information
Applicants who do not fully meet GPA or prerequisite requirements may be considered for:
- Probationary Admission
- Provisional Admission
Students admitted under these categories:
- May enroll in up to 9 approved graduate credits
- Must earn grades of B or better within 12 months
- No more than 9 credits may apply toward a degree
