Bio

Hi! My name is Ian and I believe empathy is important. I am passionate about music, mental health, and equity for all. These passions of mine influence how I design and what I think is important about design. I have learned that design is all around me and influences me. I hope I can build empathy, understanding, and hope in others, just like the designers who have inspired me. Using design as a tool to inform viewers about the truth is important to me.

My design interests include typography and brand identity. In the future I hope to design elegant and timeless typefaces for designers to use, appreciate, and to be inspired by. I admire type designers and foundries who have succeeded in creating timeless typefaces for they push and inspire me to be the best I can strive to be. Brand identity also piques my interest as I see it used as a facet for social change and truth. I hope to inspire the people around me using brand identity as a facet to instigate social change for good.

Alone is ok is a public awareness campaign with the goal of informing viewers that it is okay to be with yourself. Being comfortable in your own presence is important in self improvement and independence. This initiative also aims to encourage the audience to take care of themselves and their mental health.

ALLY is a conference that raises awareness and instigates discussion around climate justice by highlighting the voices of frontline communities in the United States. Frontline communities experience the brunt of the most extreme consequences due to climate change. This conference title sequence uses a vulnerable and rough style to emphasize that empathy and understanding are driving forces in this conference.
