Marissa Lordahl
Bio
Marissa is a photographer and designer who has grown up in Washington state the majority of her life. She moved from the Tacoma area to Seattle to attend SPU. She is graduating Summa Cum Laude with BAs in Visual Communications and Social Justice and Cultural Studies: Art for Social Change as well as a minor in Digital Media. Her design often brings in fun and light colors and is driven by serving a positive social impact. She has worked as the Photo Editor for The Falcon this past year and has been able to see how design and photography are often working together to disseminate information in the media. She sees herself working in media in some capacity in the future and deeply values storytelling in both her design and photography. Upon graduation she looks forward to pursuing working in media and expanding her personal work in photography and motion design.

Addition magazine
Addition magazine is a fictional print publication that I created for creatives who are constantly looking to add to their skill set. The edition that is featured here is all about photography and serves as an introductory to the practice. For this publication I wrote all the articles, designed the cover, shot the photos, and did the illustrations. I enjoyed how this project combined two of my favorite things, design and photography in a really fun way.

BountyShare is a prototype of an app that I designed using Adobe XD. The purpose of the app is to serve as a bridge between those interested in donating to food banks and the actual food banks themselves. This app helps people who are interested in donating discover what is most needed in their area so they can best serve the community.
