Veterans’ Benefits

Seattle Pacific undergraduate and graduate academic programs of study are approved by the Washington State Approving Agency (SAA) for enrollment of those eligible for benefits under Title 38 and Title 10, U.S. Code.

Seattle Pacific courses numbered 5000–5999 are not approved by the Washington State Approving Agency for enrollment of those eligible for benefits under Title 38 and Title 10, U.S. Code, unless the courses count toward a graduate program.

In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e), Seattle Pacific University adopts the following additional provisions for any students using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® (Ch. 33) or Veterans Readiness and Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending from the VA. This school will not:

  • Prevent the students’ enrollment;
  • Assess a late penalty fee;
  • Require students to secure alternative or additional funding; or
  • Deny students access to any resources (e.g., access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the institution.

However, to qualify for this provision, such students must:

  • Submit the Certificate of Eligibility to Seattle Pacific University no later than the first day of class in the first quarter of attendance; and
  • Complete the VA Certification Request Form quarterly. (The School Certifying Official will send an email prior to the start of each quarter indicating when it is time to complete this form, which is found in the Banner Student Menu.)

Students are also expected to make sure that any schedule changes they make remain in compliance with VA regulations.
