|University Communications Closed July 21–23|
The Office of University Communications will be closed for in-house organization and planning, July 21–23. Although the office will be closed, the UC staff will be on site and available in emergencies. In the case of an emergency, call Office Manager Julia Weir at 206-281-2051, and she will connect you with the appropriate staff member. If you are currently working with UC on a project, your communications specialist will ensure that the closure does not cause any delays. Please call your communications specialist *or* Julia if you have questions *or* concerns. Thank you for helping us prepare for a new academic year!
|SFS Closed August 8|
Student Financial Services will close at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 8, for their annual summer office retreat. The office will re-open on Monday, August 11. If you have any questions, call 206-281-2061.
|Campus Events for 2008–09?|
Twice a year, the Office of University Communications publishes a community events
brochure titled “Engage," highlighting a sampling of campus events of interest to
the public. Previous brochures have invited neighbors to campus lectures,
symposia, concerts, athletic events, gallery showings, theatre productions, etc.
This brochure is sent to more than 45,000 alumni, parents, friends, and Seattle neighbors. We are now collecting event information for the 2008–09 academic year, especially for Autumn and Winter Quarters. If you are planning an event of interest to the public, please forward the information to Tracy Norlen in University Communications at email@example.com. We are also interested in any possible events you may be planning, so please send that information as well. If you have questions, contact Tracy at 206-281-2977.
|Perkins Center Announces Summer Speakers Series|
Share a meal with colleagues at a local restaurant while hearing inspirational journeys of local Christian community development and ministry leaders as part of the John Perkins Center Summer Speakers Series, July 8–August 19. The events are:

Tuesday, August 5: Harvey Drake with Urban Impact (Ethiopian restaurant in Rainier Valley)
Tuesday, August 19: Hala Mana''o with New Horizons (Restaurant TBD in Belltown)
