Important Registration Deadlines
ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THE FIRST CLASS SESSION. Students registered for a class must be present during the first class meeting. If a student does not attend the first class session, and does not notify the instructor prior to class, the instructor has the right to have the student administratively withdrawn from the class. WAITLIST ENDS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 5th. The SPU waitlist policy is in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5th. The waitlist operates on a first on, first off approach. If space opens up in a waitlisted class, Student Academic Services will contact students who have been registered from the waitlist. LAST DAY TO ADD CLASSES IS MONDAY, JANUARY 10th. Students are able to register, add and drop courses until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10th. After this time, web registration is no longer available for Winter quarter. This is the last day to register for classes including classes that meet once a week. OTHER REGISTRATION DEADLINES. Students may register for the following classes through 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18th in Student Academic Services (Demaray Hall 151). Internships which require the Internship Learning Contract . Independent Study (4900/6900) which require the Independent Study Agreement . Individual Instruction in music which require a 1 on 1 session with the instructor . Individual Practicums (4930) that require the Special Approval Form . Special Projects (4960) which usually requires the Special Approval Form . Independent Readings (4920) that require the Independent Study Agreement . Dissertation (7995/7999) . Students wishing to change the grading option on an eligible class to "Pass/No Credit" may do so in Student Academic Services through 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 10th. *Please note that classes taken for "Pass/No Credit" do not count toward Common Curriculum, Exploratory Curriculum, or Major/Minor requirements.

The God Strategy: Religion, Politics, and the Bush Administration
UW professor & author David Domke will discuss how the Bush administration has converged religion and politics since September 11, 2001. The focus will be on the strategy of the administration and what this fusion means for American and global citizens, whether religious or not in their outlook. Domke is the author of "God Willing? Political Fundamentalism in the White House, the 'War on Terror,' and the Echoing Press" (Pluto Press, 2004). Lecture and question format. The event will be held Wednesday, January 26 in Demaray 150 at 7:00 p.m., and is hosted by the SPU Young Democrats.

SAAC Food Drive
SPU's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is having a food drive January 10-23. Bring cans of food to the January 15 double-header basketball games in exchange for a raffle ticket. There will be some great prizes from local businesses. Help SAAC reach their 1,000-can goal and be the school who donated the most food in this athletic conference competition!
