Dr. Cara Wall-Scheffler, Professor of Biology, and three SPU students presented their research at the 87th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists in Austin, TX, April 11 - 14, 2018. The students, all BS Physiology majors, were: Azariea Bonner-Harris, Hayley Cheney Kane, and Oluwadamilola (Lola) Sosanya. Also in attendance was SPU alum, Dr. Kelsey Kjosness (BS Biology 2010), who is researching the evolution of development of the primate wrist at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Azariea Bonner-Harris's research examined the effects of periods of rest on physiological conditions during rowing.
In a related study, Hayley Cheyney Kane investigated the effects of periods of rest on blood perfusion in rowers.
Lola Sosanya investigated how different ways of carrying infants and toddlers influenced walkers' gait.
