Major: PsychologySocial Justice and Cultural Studies

What are you most proud of from your time at SPU?

I am most proud of completing two degrees and a minor within four years while having a part-time job.

What is a fun fact about you?

I enjoy hiking and kayaking during the summer.

What are some of your career goals?

I want to be a marriage and family therapist, I will be going to graduate school in the fall to begin my master’s degree.

What is something you wish everyone knew about your major?

The psychology major can lead to many different vocations. I found what I enjoyed through being present in my classes and asking questions about topics that sparked my interest.

The social justice and cultural studies major is new and is expanding. It has many different avenues for seeking justice and learning about different cultures.

What is a piece of advice you’d like to leave for those still in school?

Make meaningful connections with friends and professors because they are your community. You can lean on them when times are tough and they can lean on you, too. I look back on my undergraduate career with some great memories!

Anything else?

I would highly suggest that everyone go on a study abroad at least once in their college career. I went to Prague with a great group of people and we all became friends, and I got to learn along with them and explore a few countries in our spare time!
