His journey toward becoming a kidney donor began with a bicycle accident in 2016. It led him through a life-giving surgery and then up the side of Mount Kilimanjaro. This former SPU soccer player and assistant coach is out to show the world how active and healthy live organ donors can be. Bobby, thank you so much for joining us today.

In recognition of her research and mentorship of undergraduate students, Seattle Pacific University Professor of Biology Cara Wall-Scheffler received the 2022 Lynwood W. Swanson Scientific Research Award from M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust at a special ceremony on November 11.

Wall-Scheffler received the award for “her internationally recognized work uncoupling and re-coupling human locomotor evolution with reproductive fitness, and her unparalleled mentorship of undergraduate student researchers from diverse backgrounds.”

Please join Cascade Youth Symphony, Seattle Pacific University and ChoralSounds Northwest for "Canticle of Peace and Valor" on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2 p.m. at Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle. The concert begins with Gustav Holst’s dynamic “Mars: The Bringer of War”, followed by Saint-Saen’s Cello Concerto No. 1 with soloist Ian Kitchen. The beautiful tone poem “Finlandia” will finish the 1st half of the program. After the intermission, CYSO is proud to present the Seattle Pacific University Choir Program, Music Directors, Ryan Ellis and Beth Ann Bonnecroy with a wonderful collaboration of moving and inspirational patriotic music that will honor those who perished for our freedom, that we may bravely love as they valiantly sacrificed.
