Camp Casey Pool Closed During Summer 2019

The swimming pool at the Camp Casey Conference Center will not open this summer due to an unexpected and severe maintenance issue that cannot be repaired in time for the summer season.

“We know how much this pool is loved by the community, so we wanted to send this announcement as soon as possible,” said Robyn Myers, manager of conference services. “Many people are making their summer plans, and we’re sorry we won’t be able to offer any public swimming or swim lessons here at Camp Casey.” She says the South Whidbey and the North Whidbey parks and recreation districts and the Island Athletic Club in Freeland will offer swimming lessons for those looking for another location.

The Camp Casey outdoor pool was last renovated in 1995, and has been a popular location for swimming lessons and recreation for the community. For several years, the Coupeville Lions Club has generously offered swimming lesson scholarships for those who qualified.

The Camp Casey Conference Center, owned and operated by Seattle Pacific University, provides year-round meeting spaces, lodging, and conference packages for groups.
