Lustyk Named SPU Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer
After an extensive nationwide search, Dr. Kathy Lustyk has been named the next vice president for academic affairs and chief academic officer at Seattle Pacific University. Lustyk currently serves as vice chancellor and associate chief academic officer at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Prescott. She will assume her new role at SPU in the next few months.
A former SPU psychology professor, Lustyk has a long career in higher education, research, and teaching. In her current role at ERAU, she provides leadership and supervision to the academic colleges, student support services, and academic enrichment services. She previously served as dean for the ERAU College of Arts and Science on the Prescott campus.
For more than 20 years Lustyk was part of the Seattle Pacific University community as a professor and department chair in SPU’s School of Psychology, Family, and Community before moving in 2017 to ERAU.

Lustyk holds a bachelor of science in psychology and a doctorate in physiological psychology from the University of Washington. She succeeds Dr. Les Steele, interim chief academic officer.
