SPU Welcomes New Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Dr. Sandra Richards Mayo from Azusa Pacific University has been named the new vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Seattle Pacific University. This new senior leadership position is part of SPU’s ongoing plan to strengthen diversity and reconciliation efforts on campus. She will begin her new role on July 1, 2017.

Dr. Sandra Richards MayoRichards Mayo is currently an associate professor and director of the doctoral program in educational leadership at Azusa Pacific University. Her academic and administrative roles have focused on social justice, diversity, and equity, and her scholarly work has explored historical perspectives on racial disparities. While at APU, she also served as associate dean for academic affairs in the School of Education, with primary responsibility for student academic support, curricular management, and faculty development.
