SPU honors veterans

For Veterans Day 2020, faculty, staff, and students at Seattle Pacific University wrote notes of thanks and appreciation to veterans at the Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard, Washington. The SPU community met the goal of sending 300 postcards, one for each member of the veterans home. “People felt this was a personal and positive way to show their gratitude to those who served our country in a year when our usual celebrations had to be rethought,” said Ruth Adams, associate vice president of student success and organizer of the postcard campaign. “We were so glad the Washington State Veterans Affairs department was supportive of the idea, and it may become part of our annual tradition.”
