Yeh named new dean of College of Business and Technology

Dr. James Yeh is the new dean of the College of Business and Technology at Seattle Pacific University.

Dr. Yeh is the chair and associate professor of engineering and computer science at Azusa Pacific University, where he established new concentrations and created interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate programs. He went on to serve as the inaugural associate dean of the School of Engineering at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. As the senior leader within the organization, he played a pivotal role in shaping a new school and building consensus between faculty and administration during a period of significant transition.

Dr. Yeh’s work in telecommunications, semiconductors, and biometric industries has spanned research, product development, project management, technology marketing, and sales. He holds seven U.S. patents and demonstrates a remarkable ability to bridge innovation with practical application.

“Dr. Yeh will lead our efforts to equip students with the values and skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving professional landscape,” said Vice President of Academic Affairs Kathy Lustyk. “His leadership philosophy centers on empowering our faculty with the tools and support they need for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, all while advancing the broader mission of Seattle Pacific.”

Dr. Yeh holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Caltech, a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley, and an MBA from Columbia University.

He will join the SPU campus community on Sept. 22.
