SPU Orchestra's "Exploring Music and Dance"

“Restless”

"Restless" is the first of three videos produced in the spring of 2021 by the Seattle Pacific University Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Christopher Hanson — as a part of a larger project "exploring music and dance."

This video features dancer and choreographer Amber Willett performing to a soundtrack of Lee Burswold's "Dance" for solo violin and string orchestra. The solo violin part is performed by SPU student Sofia Sednef accompanied by the 2020-2021 SPU String Ensemble. The video was recorded and produced by videographer Lionel Flynn. The music was recorded and engineered virtually, in accordance with University COVID policies to mitigate risks of the virus. This project celebrates the resilience of the SPU music department and local artists by collaborating to make art in the most trying of times.
