  • Dr. McKagan's Research Team Receives $2.2M NSF Award

    Sarah "Sam" McKagan, an SPU affiliate physics education researcher and longtime collaborator within the department serves as the editorial director for the EP3 project which was recently award a 5 year $2.2M NSF grant. This grant will support online resources to establish effective practices for undergraduate physics programs.

    Sam was also recently elected as an American Physical Society Fellow.

    Hannah Sabo (class of 2015), Lisa Goodhew (class of 2014) and Professor Amy Robertson published an article on “University student conceptual resources for understanding energy” in Physical Review Letters.

    Eun-Hee Shin (class of 2017) and Professor Lane Seeley published an article on “Colliding without touching: Using magnets and copper pipe fittings to explore the energetics of a completely inelastic collision” in the American Journal of Physics.
