Auditions

Students perform in the production String | photo by Michelle Smith Lewis

In all SPU Theatre productions, roles are open to SPU students of any major. These roles are filled by audition. Though each production has different audition requirements, generally a performer will be asked to present a monologue or two contrasting monologues that best showcase their abilities.

Musical auditions typically also require 16-32 bars of music and a movement audition.

Specific details and requirements for auditions will be posted with a link to schedule audition slots on the callboard in lower Crawford one to two weeks before auditions. Questions about registering for auditions may also be directed to theatre@spu.edu.

Performers should be prepared to check the callboard after auditions for more information regarding callbacks and casting notices.

Auditions for the Mainstage 1 production are scheduled for the first week of Fall quarter. Auditions for the Mainstage 2 production happen mid-Fall quarter. Winter and Spring auditions occur in early January. If you are interested in specific audition dates, please email your inquiry to theatre@spu.edu.
